Robotic Turtles or Roboticus Turtlus: resemble and have habits that are very similar as other natural turtles, but lack all the gooey squishy stuff inside. So when they are run over on the road they can quickly reassemble themselves and get going again. It has a hard shell that protects the inside of the turtle from being damaged by curious children which are its worst predators. Children will often disassemble and scavenge parts or just totally change its species. This is why it is on the endangered list.
Habitat for the robotic turtle is universal, as long as it is dry. It is content to be on the surface of Mars or on the Earth. Its only environment which it cannot survive is in wet conditions. It is rumored that there is a cousin that is aquatic, but it has not been proven.
The robotic turtle spends most of its days relaxing or traveling around looking for food. Its only food source is electric power and will often search for days looking for an open outlet. It does however seem to have an affinity for red colored things. It will seek them out and admire them for hours. Only hunger for more electricity will cause it to leave the red object.
Behaviors: The robotic turtle is very shy, and will hide when loud noises are present. It is slow witted so it does not respond very well all the time. This is another reason it is endangered. Children, which will inherently make loud noises, cause the turtle to hide in its shell. This is not always successful because children have figured out ways to get under the shell to get at it parts underneath.
Recently a big push for robotic zoos has increased awareness of the robotic turtle and other robotic animals, so that they may be better understood and conservation efforts have been put into place. Hopefully the numbers of the robotic turtle will increase as the robotic zoos gain more interest and support.
